What to expect when Fishing in Kodiak

Depending on the weather (which can literally change minute to minute) the trips can be wet, hot or cold. Be prepared, dress in layers, bring a rain jacket, gloves and polarized sunglasses.

Alaskan wildlife always seems to be out on the trips so have your camera ready. Commonly seen are Kodiak Brown Bear, deer, fox, Bald Eagle, wild horses, mountain goats, seals, otters, whales and beavers.

A bit about last Summer’s Fishing in Kodiak

late June into July Sockeye made their way into the rivers, also the end of July all of August Pinks fill up each stream bank to bank. The end of August,  Silvers started to make their run upstream. Through October these monster Silvers were aggressively attacking our flies. These Silvers were like torpedo’s rocketing through the water, having no problem making the reel sing down to the backing.
